Gilbert Gets the Grammy
The results are in and last night, at a ceremony held before the telecast, Music Director Alan Gilbert was awarded his first Grammy for Best Opera Recording for his highly-acclaimed performance of John Adams’s Doctor Atomic with The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
Another member of the Philharmonic family will be bringing home his first golden gramophone: Principal Percussion Christopher Lamb received the award for Best Instrumental Solo for his stand-out performance of Schwantner’s Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra with the Nashville Symphony, led by Giancarlo Guerrero.
Congratulations to all!
