You may have heard of the Philharmonic’s Rug Concerts, a ’70s-era series during Pierre Boulez’s tenure as Music Director that had audience members sitting on the floor in Avery Fisher Hall. Now, for the first time since bell bottoms were in fashion, Philharmonic audiences will be hitting the floor once again, this time at the Park Avenue Armory. Some lucky ticket holders for Philharmonic 360 will get to park themselves in the center of the action, this time with the aid of the contraption above, known as a Back Jack. Its time to get down!
