Nothing beats hearing the Philharmonic live, especially on The Great Lawn in Central Park, but if today’s heat wave is keeping you indoors you can enjoy the next best thing: last Friday’s concert, with Alan Gilbert conducting works by Tchaikovsky and Respighi, broadcast on Classical 105.9 FM WQXR, the radio station of the New York Philharmonic.
Tune in at 8:00 p.m. tonight and relive a night of beautiful music, hosted by Naomi Lewin and Elliott Forrest (right), as well as interviews with Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow (left), Associate Principal Trumpet Matthew Muckey, and Music Director Alan Gilbert.
