Music in Motion:
Olympic Edition

After using motion capture technology to search for Alan Gilbert’s mojo in The New York Times, the NYU Movement Lab is now examining the movements of Olympic athletes such as Dana Vollmer, the American record holder in the 100-meter Butterfly. Compare the graceful, fluid motions of an Olympic swimmer with that of Alan Gilbert leading the Philharmonic, and witness the mechanics of two performers at the top of their game.
