Bach It Up
“I’m scared,” Emanuel Ax revealed recently to Playbill for an article that will appear in October. What could possibly scare the legendary pianist?
Bach. When Ax plays the Keyboard Concerto in D minor on his first program as the Orchestra’s 2012-13 Mary and James. G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Oct. 4–6, it’ll also be his first time ever performing a Bach concerto. “It’s just something I didn’t learn as a kid. It’s very hard: there are a lot of notes.”
