Attention, Aspiring Bassists! Hot off the press: Philharmonic Acting Associate Principal Bass Orin O’Brien recently published Double Bass Notebook, a guide full of wisdom culled from her teaching career at The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes College of Music. Double Bass Notebook includes O’Brien’s time-tested exercises, études, articles, photographs of correct positioning, audition advice, and a chapter titled “Basic Principles of Orchestral Playing.”
