Don’t Fear the Frankenstorm
We’re all keeping our eyes on Hurricane Sandy and the possibility of a Frankenstorm, but that doesn’t scare us. Frankenstein is no stranger to the Philharmonic.
Last season, composer H. K. Gruber joined the Philharmonic to perform his fun, yet macabre Frankenstein!! And in March 2011, Philharmonic musicians performed what host Nadia Sirota dubbed a “Frankenquartet,” a string quartet stitching together three quartet movements by Haydn, Bartók, and Ligeti, at The Greene Space.
