Kudos!
Congratulations to composer Kevin Puts on winning the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his Silent Night: Opera in Two Acts, a tale of a WWI cease fire that was commissioned and premiered by the Minnesota Opera in November 2011.
He is practically a member of the Philharmonic family, since he appeared on a YPC that featured his music in November 25, and composed Two Mountain Scenes for the Philharmonic, for performances on the Summertime Classics series and at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival in June 2007.
In fact, he is literally family: he is married to Lisa GiHae Kim (to his right in this photo, taken in Vail in 2007), a Philharmonic violinist.
