Went to Prospect Park to watch the New York Philharmonic play! Picked up food at Whole Foods, traveled to Brooklyn, and had a great time. They’re so good! It was beautiful weather too. Also, the night ended in wonderful magical fireworks. YAY.

Tonight: Brooklyn
Music Director Alan Gilbert and the Philharmonic kick off a week of free Concerts in the Parks tonight at 8 p.m. in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Grab the picnic basket, head to the Long Meadow and be sure to get some photos to share on the Philharmonic’s Pinterest board.
(Pinterest fans: tag your favorite photos with “New York Philharmonic” and we’ll repin them onto our Concerts in the Parks board. Or visit our Pinterest boards through Facebook).
Forecast is for a clear and comfortable evening, with the temperature around 80 degrees. See you there!

Birthday Greetings to Ottorino
Today marks the 133rd birthday of Ottorino Respighi, best known for his Roman Trilogy of tone poems. His musical salute to the urban outdoors will be part of the program when the New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks return this week. Alan Gilbert conducts Respighi’s Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, on Wednesday, and on The Great Lawn in Central Park, on Friday. Arrive early, stake out your spot, and say “Ciao!”
