Double bassist Roman Patkoló, whom Anne-Sophie Mutter, The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence, calls “the Paganini of the bass,” performs with Ms. Mutter on an intimate chamber music program featuring Musicians of the New York Philharmonic on Sunday, April 3, at Avery Fisher Hall. Here’s a video of Mr. Patkoló performing Pablo de Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen (Gypsy Airs). Don’t miss this program of virtuosic music by Mendelssohn and Beethoven, as well as New York Premieres for double bass and violin by Wolfgang Rihm and Krzysztof Penderecki!
